Chinese Online Game

Chinese Online Game is such a broad title that it tells you almost nothing beyond the format: an online game associated with China, which could mean anything from a local browser title to a larger social or competitive service. By our assessment, that vagueness is the problem and the attraction at once, because a generic label leaves the real question to the specific game hiding behind it. The downside is obvious: without a sharper identity, there is no clear way to judge the mechanics, the audience, or the design ambitions. In practice, the phrase feels more like a catalogue label than a game people talk about for its own sake. It sits in the cloudiest corner of the category, and that makes it hard to recommend on anything except curiosity about what the actual product behind the name might be.
