Cataclismo

Cataclismo is for players who want to build under pressure, not just march units around. By our assessment, its real strength is the layered mix of fortress building and real-time defense, where walls, towers, and choke points matter as much as the army itself. That makes each mission feel like a construction problem first and a battle second, which is a nice change from flatter strategy games. The downside is obvious: it demands attention to layout and timing, so it can feel fussy if someone wants a simple skirmish game. In practice, the appeal is in watching a plan either hold or crumble under waves of enemies. It sits nearer to tactical defense and base-building hybrids than to broad empire strategy, and the name fits the mood without softening the pressure. The ceiling is how much enjoyment a player gets from tuning structures before the fighting starts.
