Castlevania Advance Collection

Castlevania Advance Collection is a tidy bundle for people who want the Game Boy Advance era of Castlevania in one place. By our assessment, it is strongest as a preserved slice of action-platforming: careful jumping, whip timing, RPG-style gear, and a handful of modes and extras around the main games. Its big weakness is the old-school unevenness that comes with the package, because these are still handheld games built around exploration, backtracking, and learning enemy patterns. In practice it feels like opening a time capsule with a few modern comforts bolted on, so the rewind and save options matter more than in the original releases. Compared with the individual carts, the collection is simply the cleaner way to approach them, especially if one wants all four games and the bonus material in one menu. It is for series fans and retro-action players, not for someone looking for a sleek remake.
