Cards and Castles

Cards and Castles mixes deck-building with lane-based tactics, so the player is constantly deciding which card to play and where to place the result on the board. By our assessment, that hybrid is the whole point: it turns a card game into something that also cares about positioning and board control. The best part is the way familiar card choices gain a tactical edge once lanes matter, because timing and placement start to count as much as raw deck quality. The trade-off is that the two systems can make matches feel swingy, especially when the card draw does not line up with the board state. In practice it plays like a small, brisk strategy game rather than a slow collectible marathon. Cards and Castles sits between straightforward digital card games and more positional tactics games. It suits players who like thinking one move ahead on both the deck and the map.
