Card City Nights

Card City Nights gets by on the simple pleasure of building a deck and playing card duels inside a bright, urban-flavoured wrapper. By our assessment, its strength is that it keeps the deck-building readable and focused, so the player can think about combos without being buried under a wall of systems. The downside is that it stays relatively small-scale, and people looking for a sprawling card game with huge meta layers may find it limited. In practice it has the feel of a compact card battler: match up effects, read the board, and watch a run swing on a few clean decisions. It sits closer to a streamlined strategy card game than to the heavyweight collectible-card giants. Card City Nights will make most sense to players who want a lighter, self-contained deck-builder rather than an endless ladder of complexity. The art and presentation give it a lot of personality, and the game keeps that identity tight instead of stretching for more than it is built to do.
