Candle

Candle suggests mood before mechanics, and that is often the whole promise of a game with this name. By our assessment, it sounds like a smaller atmospheric title, the kind that may build around light, darkness, or a fragile journey rather than dense systems. The strength of such a game is usually its sense of place and its visual idea, while the downside is that the idea can be easy to exhaust if the underlying play is too simple. In practice these games tend to move slowly and ask for patience more than quick reaction. It sits close to the many indie titles that rely on tone and presentation to do most of the lifting. Candle will appeal more to someone looking for a brief, quiet experience than to someone wanting a long or mechanically busy one.
