CONSORTIUM

CONSORTIUM is the kind of game people remember for its premise more than for spectacle: a dialogue-heavy first-person story where conversation, choice and role-play do most of the work. By our assessment, that makes it interesting for players who like branching narrative systems and a strong science-fiction setup, not for anyone chasing constant action. The downside is that this sort of design lives or dies on writing, pacing and how much the player enjoys talking their way through a world, so the appeal is narrow. In practice it is more about reading, selecting responses and steering relationships than about combat or exploration. Compared with broad action-adventures, it is much more textual and inward; compared with pure visual novels, it keeps a first-person game structure around the story. The title itself fits the mood well, since the game’s concern is group politics and social machinery rather than heroics. It sits best with players who want a talky, choice-led sci-fi game and not with people looking for immediate mechanical drama.
