COMPOUND

COMPOUND is a first-person shooter for people who want tight movement, quick fights, and a run-based structure rather than a long story. By our assessment, its real strength is how much it leans into old-school speed: you move fast, the weapon set is small and purposeful, and each room asks for clean aim and fast decisions. That also defines the trade-off, because the game does not try to give you a wide campaign or much hand-holding. In practice it feels direct and a little harsh, with the sort of rhythm where failure sends you back into the loop quickly. Compared with bigger modern shooters, it is leaner and more focused, and that focus is what gives it shape. It suits players who like precision and replaying short stretches, and less so anyone looking for story or variety. The ceiling is the narrowness of its idea, but inside that lane COMPOUND stays sharp.
