Bulb Boy

Bulb Boy stands out because it leans so hard into odd creature-puzzle logic: a point-and-click adventure about a boy with a lamp head, grotesque little hazards, and a very direct visual idea. By our assessment, it is for players who like compact puzzle adventures and do not mind when the humor comes from strange, slightly nasty imagery. The game’s best quality is its clear style and its willingness to be memorable without needing a huge system underneath. The limit is that this kind of adventure depends on puzzle flow and mood, so it can feel brief or lightweight if someone wants deeper mechanics. In play, it is the sort of thing where you click around, solve environmental problems, and keep moving through set pieces. Compared with larger adventure games, Bulb Boy sits in the small, self-contained corner of the genre, and it lives on atmosphere more than on complexity.
