Broken Sword: Reforged

Broken Sword: Reforged lives on point-and-click detective work, with inventory puzzles, dialogue, and the pleasure of following clues at a measured pace. By our assessment, its strength is the remake treatment itself: a familiar adventure is presented with cleaner visuals and the same kind of puzzle-first structure that made the series easy to recognise. The limit is built into the genre, because this kind of game depends on patience with backtracking and occasional obscure solutions. In practice it asks for attention to small details rather than quick reflexes, and that gives it a very specific rhythm. Broken Sword: Reforged sits in the classic adventure lane, not the action lane, and the appeal is mostly to players who want a story led by puzzles and conversation.
