Broken Age

Broken Age is a point-and-click adventure for players who want dialogue, puzzles, and hand-painted scenes more than fast systems or action. By our assessment, its real strength is the presentation: the art style is soft and memorable, and the writing carries the game through the kind of puzzle logic that sometimes gets very adventure-game weird. The downside is familiar to the genre: progress can stall when a puzzle depends on an odd leap rather than clean deduction. In practice it feels like moving through a carefully staged storybook and clicking around until the next piece of the script opens up. Compared with old-school adventures, Broken Age is gentler and more polished, though it still lives on the same taste for lateral thinking. It suits people who enjoy character-driven adventure games and do not mind a few head-scratching detours along the way.
