Boundless

Boundless aims at freedom first: a huge open-world sandbox where players gather, build, travel, and shape their own projects more than follow a fixed route. By our assessment, its real strength is that sense of scale and self-directed play, since it gives room for digging, crafting, exploration, and simple collaboration without forcing a narrow path. The downside is the familiar one for this kind of game: when everything is open, the game can leave direction and purpose up to the player, which is not always enough to keep momentum. In practice it asks for time and a willingness to make your own goals, and the loop is closer to long-form building than to tight mission design. It sits somewhere between survival crafting and creative sandbox play, and that middle ground can be either generous or aimless depending on taste. Boundless is best when the player wants to wander and build, not when looking for a sharp campaign.
