Boid

Boid is a minimalist arcade game about movement, survival, and reading a field of obstacles quickly enough to stay alive. By our assessment, that stripped-down approach is its main strength, because there is no clutter between the player and the basic task of dodging, threading through gaps, and reacting cleanly. The cost of that purity is narrowness: once the rhythm is understood, the game has to rely on score chasing and execution rather than on big new ideas. In practice it feels sharp and immediate, but also unforgiving if attention drifts for even a moment. Boid belongs with lean reflex games rather than elaborate action titles, and it will appeal to people who like plain mechanics and tight control more than story or spectacle.
