Blood Trail

Blood Trail is a VR shooter built around close-quarters fighting, body movement and the awkward physicality that virtual reality makes hard to ignore. By our assessment, its hook is the directness of that setup: aiming, reloading and moving in space become the whole game, not just the wrapper around it. The downside is obvious too, because VR combat can be tiring, awkward and much less forgiving than flat-screen shooting, especially if the tracking or room setup is not comfortable. In practice that means the appeal comes from immersion and physical presence, with all the usual headset trade-offs attached. It sits in the part of VR that asks for more commitment than a standard shooter and less patience for casual play than a lot of arcade action. Blood Trail is a rougher, more physical experience than most gun games, and it does not try to be polished comfort food. The name fits the tone, but the real draw is the close, awkward hand-to-hand feel of VR combat.
