Blacklight: Retribution

Blacklight: Retribution is a free-to-play first-person shooter built around fast matches, custom weapons, and a near-future military look. By our assessment, its best trait is the pace: movement, aiming, and gadget play are meant to stay brisk, so every round feels busy. The downside is the usual one for this kind of shooter, and it matters here too: free-to-play design tends to bring grind, balance arguments, and a scene that can age unevenly. In practice it is about short bursts of reflex shooting rather than long strategic buildup. Compared with the biggest arena shooters, it sits more in the middle, with style and speed doing more work than depth. Blacklight: Retribution is for players who want a quick competitive loop and can live with a rougher economy around it.
