Black Book: Prologue

Black Book: Prologue is a short slice of a story-driven deck-building RPG, so its job is to tease the larger game and show the mix of Slavic folklore, card battles, and narrative choice. By our assessment, that blend is its main strength: the setting feels specific, and the card combat gives the prologue more shape than a plain intro would. The limit is obvious too, because a prologue can only hint at systems and world rather than fully develop them. In practice it reads like a compact sampler, with story beats and battles arriving in a tight loop. It sits between a demo and the opening chapter of a much bigger project, so expectations have to stay modest.
