By our assessment, the genre gives it a clear engine of replay, because the tension comes from improvising rather than following a fixed route. The honest limit is that this formula lives or dies on variety, balance, and the feel of combat, so a player who dislikes repeated runs will bounce off quickly. In practice the loop is familiar: short attempts, quick losses, and the occasional run that clicks because the build finally comes together. Against other roguelikes it sits in the crowded middle, where good systems matter more than a big twist.
