Battle Engine Aquila

Battle Engine Aquila keeps its appeal in the mix of giant mech combat and battlefield command, so it is aimed at players who like action with a bit of strategy layered on top. By our assessment, its strongest point is that it does not leave the player as a lone shooter; it makes the machine part of a larger war and keeps switching between piloting and directing the fight. The trade-off is obvious: that extra layer can make the pace feel busier than a pure arcade game, and the controls ask for some patience. In play, that usually means scanning the map, choosing targets, then dropping back into direct action before the moment passes. Compared with straightforward mech games, it sits closer to a war game with heavy hardware than to a simple brawler. It suits people who want scale and orders as much as explosions, and it is less convincing for anyone who only wants quick reflex combat.
