Aven Colony

Aven Colony puts the pressure on city planning in a place that is never friendly, and that is what makes it interesting. By our assessment, it is a science-fiction colony builder for players who want to juggle housing, power, oxygen, food, and morale while a harsh environment keeps nudging the system. The good part is the clear colony-management loop, with production lines and settlement growth easy to grasp at a glance. The downside is that colony builders can turn into a lot of upkeep, and this one leans into that more than into freeform creativity. In play, it feels less like drawing a dream city and more like keeping a fragile machine from slipping. It sits between relaxed base builders and harder survival management games, and it suits people who enjoy order, chaining systems, and watching a settlement hold together under stress.
