As Dusk Falls

As Dusk Falls gets its power from branching family drama, where long conversations, hard choices, and the fallout between two households do most of the work. By our assessment, its real strength is the way it presents a screen-comic style of still images and animated camera moves, which gives the story a tense, almost graphic-novel rhythm. The downside is that it is still a choice-driven narrative game first, so anyone wanting free movement or mechanical depth will find very little of that here. In practice it feels like reading and steering a drama scene by scene, with the player nudging events rather than driving them like an action game. It sits among story-heavy interactive dramas rather than traditional adventure games, and that makes it closer to a TV serial in structure than to a puzzle box. The name fits the mood well enough, because everything is set around pressure, aftermath, and a dusk-colored calm before trouble. It is strongest when the writing and pacing carry the scene, not when someone expects systems to do the job.
