Aquatico

Aquatico asks for the calm, repetitive work of building a submerged city: laying infrastructure, balancing power and oxygen, and keeping the whole habitat fed. By our assessment, it is at its best when a player likes city builders that are more about systems than spectacle. The draw is the underwater setting and the way it turns a familiar management loop into something a bit more fragile and enclosed. The limit is that the genre is still doing most of the work, so if someone wants a wide-open survival sandbox or a heavily character-driven strategy game, this will feel narrow. In practice it is a lot of menus, placement, and checking whether one bottleneck has rippled into three others. Aquatico sits closer to other colony builders than to any action game, and that means patience matters more than pace.
