Anomaly Defenders is for people who already like tower defense and want the twist of playing the attackers instead of the usual defenders. By our assessment, that reversal is the part that gives the game its hook, because it forces the player to think about routes, unit placement, and pressure in a different way from standard lane defense. The downside is that the same reversal also keeps it in a narrow lane: it is still a tower-defense game at heart, so it depends on whether the player enjoys that loop in the first place.
