Among the Sleep - Enhanced Edition stands out because it puts the player in the body of a very small child and turns the house into a place of scale, shadows, and uneasy sounds. By our assessment, that choice is its real strength: horror here comes from being low to the floor, vulnerable, and dependent on a child’s understanding of the world. The trade-off is that this kind of first-person horror is more about mood and wandering than about complex systems, so people wanting hard puzzles or combat will find it thin. In practice it feels intimate and fragile, with simple interactions doing most of the work. Against louder horror games, it is more about fear from a child’s-eye perspective than about gore or action. Among the Sleep - Enhanced Edition is for players who want atmosphere and a pointed idea, not a busy set of mechanics.
