Amnesia: Memories focuses on dialogue, relationship routes, and the slow work of uncovering what is going on through an otome-style visual novel structure. By our assessment, its strength is that it gives choices real weight inside a story-driven format, so the player is mostly reading, selecting, and watching how branches shift. The trade-off is that someone who wants active systems or fast movement will find very little of that here. In practice, this kind of game asks for attention to character lines and patience with repeated scenes as routes diverge. Amnesia: Memories sits comfortably in the visual novel side of the shelf, not the action side, and the appeal is in the route structure and the emotional tone of the writing.
