Altitude

Altitude is a small, fast-paced multiplayer dogfighting game about slipping between clouds, popping up for quick shots, and trying to keep enough speed to stay alive. By our assessment, its appeal is the simple aerial loop: climb, dive, fire, repeat, with the map and momentum doing most of the work. The downside is that this kind of game can feel thin once the novelty of the movement wears off, because there is not much beyond the basic skirmish rhythm. In practice it is the sort of game that lives on short sessions and quick reflexes rather than long systems or story. Compared with bigger flight shooters, it is lighter and more stripped down, and that makes it easier to read at a glance. Altitude is best for people who want straightforward airborne multiplayer without a lot of overhead, and less so for anyone looking for deep progression or a sprawling campaign.
