Aliens: Fireteam Elite leans on co-op squad shooting, with three marines pushing through waves of xenomorphs and tougher creatures in a straight action framework. By our assessment, its best feature is the readable combat rhythm: firing lanes, special enemy types, and class roles are easy to understand at a glance. The trade-off is that it repeats a very familiar Alien formula, so the mission structure can feel more like efficient escalation than surprise. In play it is a game of positioning, ammo management, and surviving bursts of close-quarters pressure rather than of subtle storytelling or exploration. Against the bigger co-op shooters, it sits in the comfortable middle: polished enough to function, not broad enough to become a long-term obsession for everyone. It works best when the squad wants a straightforward Alien firefight and nothing more.
