Aliens: Dark Descent

Aliens: Dark Descent asks for careful squad control under pressure, with a small team moving through hostile corridors instead of a big open battlefield. By our assessment, what it does well is make stealth, positioning, and panic management matter at the same time, which suits the Alien setting very naturally. The trade-off is that it can feel demanding and tense, because the game is happiest when the player is watching several things at once and moving before trouble blooms. In practice, the pace is more about creeping forward, reacting to danger, and keeping the squad intact than about clean heroics. Compared with simpler action games in the franchise, it leans harder into tactics and dread than into shooting. That makes Aliens: Dark Descent a good pick for players who want pressure and planning together, not for anyone seeking a loose power fantasy. Its ceiling is set by how much patience a player has for constant vigilance.
