Albert and Otto

Albert and Otto is a small puzzle-platform game built around switching between the two characters to get past hazards and closed-off spaces. By our assessment, it sounds more interesting in concept than in the way most people will feel it minute to minute, because the whole appeal is in light co-op-style logic rather than spectacle. The upside is the simple two-character setup, which gives each room a clear purpose and makes progress feel deliberate. The downside is that this kind of design can become very spare if the puzzles do not keep changing shape, and the platforming has no way to hide behind a bigger system. In practice it is the sort of game that asks for patience, careful movement and a willingness to work through compact rooms one by one. It sits closer to a modest indie puzzle game than to an action platformer, and that makes the ceiling fairly low. Albert and Otto will make sense for players who want short, neat problems, while people looking for fast momentum or a lot of variety should skip it.
