Age of Gladiators

Age of Gladiators is a management game about training fighters, balancing money, and keeping a stable of arena combatants alive long enough to matter. By our assessment, its best quality is the way it turns gladiator life into a set of hard decisions about recruitment, development, and survival instead of just another bout-to-bout sports loop. The limit is also built into that idea: management layers can feel dry, and the action itself is usually abstracted enough that the numbers matter more than the spectacle. In practice you spend a lot of time planning lineups, watching injuries, and living with the consequences when a promising fighter gets ruined. It sits in the same space as other sports and tycoon management games, but with a Roman arena skin that gives it a sharper edge. Age of Gladiators is for people who like tactics spreadsheets with bruises attached, not for anyone chasing flashy fighting scenes.
