Aeterna Noctis

Aeterna Noctis asks for patience, precision, and a taste for punishment in the way hard platformers do. It is a Metroidvania for players who like tight movement, hostile screens, and learning routes by heart. By our assessment, its main strength is the density of its world and the care put into traversal, with combat and platforming both leaning on timing rather than comfort. The downside is the same one that defines the whole thing: mistakes hurt, and the game does not rush to forgive them. In practice it feels deliberate, with long stretches of careful edging forward, backtracking, and repeating sections until they click. Compared with looser action-adventure games, it sits much closer to the demanding end of the genre.
