Acolyte

Acolyte suggests a game about serving a order, learning rules, and moving through a world where ritual matters more than raw power. By our assessment, that can make for a strong role-playing or action-adventure setup when the game lets rank, duty, and atmosphere shape the play rather than just dressing up the hero. The downside is that this kind of premise can become heavy if it leans too hard on mood and leaves the mechanics thin. In practice, a game like this usually feels disciplined and ceremonial, with a lot depending on whether the systems match the role the title implies. Compared with louder fantasy games, it sounds more focused on obedience, initiation, and the cost of belonging than on open heroics. That makes it appealing to players who like a stricter tone and less appealing to anyone who wants free-form power fantasy. Acolyte works best when the rules of the world are as important as the character in it, and when the game remembers that service has a shape of its own.
