Abyss Odyssey

Abyss Odyssey sounds like a side-scrolling action game that wants atmosphere as much as combat, and that already tells you who usually reaches for it: players who like exploring hostile worlds and learning attack patterns. By our assessment, its main strength is the mix of colorful mythic imagery, melee combat, and a roguelike structure that keeps runs from feeling fixed in place. The trade-off is familiar too: repeated attempts, some rough edges, and a structure that can feel punishing when a run goes wrong. In play, that means a lot of watching enemy timing, moving carefully, and accepting that progress comes in chunks rather than a straight line. It sits somewhere between a straightforward action platformer and a more demanding roguelike, which gives it more texture than a basic brawler. Abyss Odyssey is the kind of game that works when the player enjoys learning systems, not when they want instant comfort.
