A.R.E.S.: Extinction Agenda is the sort of side-scrolling action game that lives or dies on movement, timing, and how good the shooting feels moment to moment. By our assessment, its real draw is the robot-hero setup and the constant pressure to keep climbing, dodging, and firing while enemies fill the screen. The trade-off is that this style can get demanding fast, because precision and repetition matter more than spectacle alone. In play, it should feel tight and reactive, with the familiar rhythm of a run, a failure, and a cleaner attempt after that. Compared with bigger, looser action games, A.R.E.S.: Extinction Agenda sits closer to the disciplined arcade side of the genre, and that makes it more attractive to players who like control and less forgiving to players who want a slower adventure.
