9 Monkeys of Shaolin

9 Monkeys of Shaolin is a side-scrolling beat-’em-up built around close-range kung fu, crowd control, and the constant push through groups of enemies. By our assessment, its strength is the directness of the combat: you are reading spacing, chaining strikes, and reacting to pressure without a lot of menu clutter. The trade-off is the usual one for the genre, because repetitive lanes of enemies can start to feel familiar before the system fully surprises you. In practice it lands as a hands-on, rhythmic fighter where timing and positioning matter more than elaborate systems. Compared with deeper action games, it is simpler and more old-school, but that is also part of the appeal. 9 Monkeys of Shaolin stays focused on brawling, and the stage structure keeps moving the player forward.
