Tokenised GBP points at a stablecoin-style idea tied to sterling, so the appeal is obvious: a digital token that tries to follow the pound rather than swing like a speculative coin. By our assessment, that makes it more about settlement and transfer than about excitement, and that is also its limit. A coin built around fiat money only works as long as people trust the link and the plumbing around it, so the whole proposition depends on backing, redemption, and the rules of the system behind it. In practice that usually means something people use for moving value inside a tighter rails-first setup, not for grand upside.
