S&P Global xStock belongs to the same tokenized-equity world, so it is aimed at people who want a blockchain wrapper around a familiar stock name. By our assessment, that wrapper is the main selling point: it tries to make a traditional market asset easier to move inside crypto rails. The downside is that tokenized stock products are always mediated products, so the thing you hold comes with extra structure instead of the clean simplicity of a direct share. In practice it feels like finance translated into another system, with the same need to understand what sits behind the token. It is not trying to replace a brokerage account, and that limit is part of the whole design.
