Real Ether leans on the name of Ethereum, so it immediately suggests a token trying to borrow credibility from a much bigger ecosystem. By our assessment, that makes it easy to understand on the surface and hard to place beyond that surface, because the real question is what relationship it actually has to Ethereum rather than what the name evokes. The good part of this sort of token is obvious branding: people can guess the story in a second. The downside is also obvious, since names that echo a major chain can feel confusing or opportunistic unless the project’s purpose is very clear. In practice, that means extra caution and extra reading, because the name alone does not explain the mechanics. It sits far below Ether itself, which has a defined role, broad recognition and a mature network around it. This is only interesting if there is a real, specific use behind the label.
