Orchid Protocol is a crypto project that is usually read through privacy and network use rather than through day-to-day payments. By our assessment, its real appeal is that it tries to sit at the edge of blockchain and internet privacy tools, which gives it a clearer idea than many tokens that only exist as symbols. The trade-off is obvious: a privacy-themed protocol has to persuade people to care about the service layer, and that is a much harder sell than a simple coin story. In practice it feels more technical than friendly, with the sort of user who is willing to learn a system before touching it. Orchid Protocol sits well below the big household-name coins, but above the pure noise of tokens with no obvious function. It is for people who want a privacy-flavoured crypto instrument, not for anyone looking for a plain store of value.
