OKX Wrapped ETH is aimed at users who need ether exposure in a packaged form that can live comfortably on a trading platform. By our assessment, it is good at turning ETH into something easier to move through exchange products, and that is a real practical advantage. The trade-off is that the holder is now relying on the wrapper and the venue, not only on Ethereum itself. In daily use, that means one more layer to think about and one more place where the asset’s rules matter. It belongs with other wrapped exchange assets rather than with direct ETH in a self-custody wallet. It is a sensible tool for platform use, but it is not the same thing as holding ETH on chain.
