Multichain Bridged DAI (Energi) is a bridged form of DAI for use on the Energi network, so the point is not novelty but portability. By our assessment, it is useful in the narrow way bridged stablecoins usually are: it lets people keep a DAI-like unit inside another chain’s environment. That makes it practical for transfers and on-chain activity where native DAI is not the point. The cost is the extra dependency on the bridge and the wrapper, which is the part most likely to make users think harder than they would with the original asset. In practice, this is a utility token-like stablecoin wrapper, not a separate innovation to admire for its own sake. It sits in the middle of the category, useful if Energi is where the activity already is, and otherwise not much reason to reach for it.
