Monkey Currency

Monkey Currency leans on the joke in its name, but it still lands in the ordinary, crowded world of cryptocurrencies. By our assessment, its main appeal is that it signals itself fast and asks very little of the reader beyond knowing the meme register. The obvious trade-off is that a name like this carries little built-in seriousness, so it has to survive on attention rather than on trust. In practice, that usually means fast reactions, short-lived discussion, and a lot of overlap with other novelty tokens. Against the bigger names in crypto, it sits much nearer the playful end than the payments end. Monkey Currency is for people who are comfortable treating a token as a meme first, and it is not made for anyone looking for a sturdy everyday currency.
