Merck xStock

Merck xStock is a tokenized equity product for crypto users, and by our assessment, it competes in the same narrow lane as other stock-linked tokens: it turns a known company into something that can live on-chain. The good part is the familiar reference point; people do not have to decode a fresh crypto brand from scratch. The cost is extra structure and a narrower use case, because this is still a wrapped version of equity exposure rather than a simple share. In practice it will feel most natural to people who already understand tokenized assets and are comfortable with the difference between a stock and a blockchain representation of one. It is not trying to replace a brokerage account, and that is the right way to read it.
