By our assessment, its real appeal is mechanical rather than glamorous: it packages a familiar stablecoin inside a system that tracks lending returns. The upside is obvious to anyone who uses DeFi — the token does a specific job and keeps that job visible on-chain. The trade-off is that it is not a simple cash substitute, because the value and usefulness depend on the lending setup behind it. In practice it belongs in wallets and protocols, not in casual talk, and it makes sense only if you already understand how interest-bearing tokens work. Its limit is the same one most DeFi wrappers face: useful inside the system, opaque outside it.
