Magic Internet Money (Ethereum) is a crypto token built for lending and DeFi use on Ethereum, where people want a dollar-linked unit that moves around smart contracts instead of a bank account. By our assessment, it makes the most sense as a piece of market plumbing: useful inside protocols, not as a thing with much life on its own. That design also leaves it tied to Ethereum fees and to the health of the lending setup it sits in, so ordinary transfers can feel more awkward than the name suggests. It sits below the big general-purpose coins in breadth, because it is narrower and more dependent on one ecosystem. The name is memorable, but the token is really for users who already live in DeFi and understand the trade-off. Outside that setting, it has little reason to matter.
