Multichain

Multichain is a name for cross-chain infrastructure, the sort of crypto plumbing that tries to move assets and data between blockchains. By our assessment, that makes it more interesting as infrastructure than as a coin people stare at for its own sake. Its genuine strength is the bridging idea: when it works, it reduces the friction of hopping between networks that otherwise do not talk to each other. The trade-off is serious, because bridges and multichain systems add complexity and concentrate risk in the middle layer that connects them. In practice that means users depend on a lot of moving parts they do not directly see, which is exactly why this category can feel powerful and fragile at the same time. Compared with simple single-chain tokens, Multichain sits in the more technical end of crypto, and the ceiling is set by how safely that middle layer can be run.
