MAI sits in the same hard-to-justify corner of the crypto world: a token that has to earn its keep by being more than a name. By our assessment, that makes it a bet on infrastructure and trust rather than on anything a casual user can touch, and that is both the attraction and the problem. The upside of this kind of coin is familiar to anyone around crypto: it can be moved quickly inside its own system and may support a networked use case. The downside is just as familiar, because the practical ceiling is set by volatility, wallet handling, and the fact that MAI is not the same thing as ordinary spending money.
