MAI (Base) is the same stablecoin idea carried onto Base, so its audience is people already using that network and its apps. By our assessment, its best feature is plain: it gives that ecosystem a token meant to hold steady and move cleanly through DeFi and transfers. The cost of that neatness is dependence on the Base setup and on the market’s trust in how the peg is managed. In actual use it is less a coin to admire than a piece of infrastructure that sits inside wallets, swaps, and on-chain payments. Compared with a general crypto token, MAI (Base) is narrower and more practical at the same time. It stops being attractive the moment someone wants a standalone asset with a big story around it.
