In practice, that usually means one more layer to understand before the whole position feels comfortable. Liquid ATOM sits in the camp of crypto wrappers rather than plain base assets, so it makes more sense for people already active in DeFi than for someone wanting simple custody. The name promises flexibility, and that is what it offers, but the trade-off is complexity rather than magic.
