Liberland Merit

Liberland Merit is another cryptocurrency, and the attraction is the same basic one: a digital unit that can move without a conventional payments layer in the middle. By our assessment, its appeal is mostly to people already comfortable with wallets, private keys, and the jumpy nature of crypto markets. The concrete strength of this kind of coin is borderless transfer and quick settlement on the network when a counterparty actually wants it. The concrete weakness is that its value can move sharply and its usefulness depends on adoption rather than on any built-in everyday role. In practice it is more a thing to manage than a thing that quietly disappears into the background. Liberland Merit sits among niche tokens that live on story and community as much as on payment utility. It is better for someone who wants exposure to that world than for someone who wants money to behave like money.
