KYVE Network points straight at the piece of crypto that cares about data infrastructure, not chatty branding, and that is a useful place to be. By our assessment, its appeal comes from the idea of organizing and preserving data so other systems can rely on it, which is more concrete than many tokens manage to be. The downside is that infrastructure tokens often ask a lot of the user: they make sense only if the network itself becomes important enough for people to notice. In practice that means a technical project with more talk about function than glamour, and the token’s value is tied to whether that function matters.
